Target Audience

This activity is intended for Physicians (MD, DO), Registered Nurses (RN), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN), Physician Assistants (ARC-PA), Dieticians (RD, RDN), Pharmacists (PharmD, RPh), Pharmacy Technicians (CPhT), and Dentists (DDS, DMD) delivering primary care to adults, children, and infants. This activity is intended for Healthcare Providers engaged in the care of patients with Cardiac Arrest in primary care, hospital, and ambulatory care.



Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Identify the signs and symptoms of cardiac arrest and respiratory distress that require immediate intervention.
  2. Describe the key components of high-quality CPR, including chest compression depth, rate, and minimizing interruptions.
  3. Demonstrate the proper technique for performing adult, child, and infant CPR according to the latest guidelines.
  4. Explain the importance of early defibrillation and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) effectively.
  5. Recognize the steps in the chain of survival and their importance in improving patient outcomes.
  6. Apply effective communication and teamwork skills during a resuscitation scenario.
  7. Understand and manage common barriers to CPR performance, including bystander hesitation and fear.
  8. Practice appropriate safety measures to protect both the rescuer and the victim during CPR.
  9. Evaluate when to stop CPR or transition care to advanced medical providers.
  10. Recall the post-resuscitation steps to ensure continuity of care and improve patient survival rates.
